THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH

Psalm 92:12

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

1.Righteousness is the womb of every great destiny.

2. The palm tree is all-round useful, no part of it is a waste, so is the life of the righteous. God keeps them relevant always. Every nation needs the righteous to thrive. Behind every good system that works is the operation of a righteous person.

3.Righteousness engenders growth unlimited (like the cider in Lebanon). Without righteousness, growth is retarded.

4. Righteousness is the fertile ground where life grows into a meaningful height.

     Proverbs  14:34

     Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

WHAT THEN IS RIGHTEOUSNESS?

1. Righteousness is a state of purity and blamelessness before God. You must stay blameless by your continuous strive against sin. You must flee from all appearance of evil as the world is full of wolves.

 Job  1:8

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

2. Righteousness is the garment of the new testament believer. You must be clothed with that garment in order to stay useful and in fellowship with God. Sin is a reproach. Sin is a sinker. Sin robs you of you glory and honour. Sin leads you into captivity. Sin takes you to hell and eternal destruction.

 Revelation  3:4

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Revelation  16:15

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

3. Righteousness is walking in obedience to the will of God.(Obeying the truth). When you okay divine instructions, it is counted unto you as Righteousness. When you serve God in truth and in deed, it is counted to you as Righteousness. When you say no to sin or the influence of sin, you are righteous.

    Matthew  7:24 – 27

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Romans  6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

NEED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS

1. Life of righteousness is the only proof of our redemption. Jesus said, “you shall know them by the fruit they bear.”

Romans  5:17

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

2. Righteousness is the ticket to heaven. Only the pure in heart will see God. Any one who intermingles with sin will have his soul polluted and no polluted soul shall stand in God’s presence.

Matthew  5:8

 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Matthew  7:21

 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

3. You are prepared unto every good work. The best vessel in the house is reserved to serve the king. Righteousness presents as that great vessel that performs the duty of honouring the king.

 2 Timothy  2:20

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

4. Transgenerational prosperity: Right standing with God and uprightness brings into your life transgenerational prosperity. It is the righteous that will flourish as the palm tree. God has a covenant of blessing with the righteous. You, your descendants will enjoy these blessings and never recover from them.

  Job  22:23 – 24

 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

 24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

Psalms  112:1-3

 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.  3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

5. Unlimited access to revelation: Righteousness opens the door of revelation to the man that subscribes to it. It is revelation you get that determine your elevation in life and destiny.

 John  10:27

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

HOW CAN I OBTAIN GARMENT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

1. Be born again and remain so. Your spirit must be regenerated first to be able to search the mind of God and discover what God has in stock for you. Any man’s spirit that is not regenerated is a vagabond spirit. It cannot tune to the frequency of God. An unregenerated spirit is a reprobate spirit which cannot handle spiritual matters.

 John  3:3

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Colossians  1:13

 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

2. Be connected to the vine.

 John  15:3-4

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

James  1:21

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

3. Raise and maintain an alter of prayer. A prayerless believer is the devil trashbeing. Satan stores his properties such as sicknesses and diseases, failures, wickedness, etc in weak and powerless vessels.

  Luke  18:1

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Luke  21:36  

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
